Using the Filter/Search Feature for Events

You can use the "Filter/Search" box (located in the left column of the Events main page) to sort Events based on search parameters as well as create default and saved searches for things that you search for frequently.

You can sort Events in two ways:

  1. Quick filter the Events currently on-screen using a name, word or phrase.
  2. Advanced search across all Events based on one or more search criteria.

To Conduct a Quick Filter of Events On-Screen:

  1. Click on "Events" in the main navigation bar.
  2. In the left column under the "Filter/Search" box, in the "Quick Filter" field, type in the name/word/phrase that you want to search for. Any Events appearing on-screen with those names/words/phrases associated with them will appear in the right column.

To Conduct an Advanced Search of All Events:

  1. Click on "Events" in the main navigation bar.
  2. In the left column in the "Filter/Search" box, in the "Advanced Search" area, you can search across all Events for the following criteria:
    • Event Name
    • Status - All, Open, Archived
    • Sorted By - Event Date (ascending or descending), Alphabetical
    • Tags
  3. After you have selected your criteria, click the "Search Now" button.

To Save an Advanced Search and Create a Default Search:
NOTE: A default search will be the default results that are shown every time you click on the "Events" link in the main navigation bar. So if you want your Events sorted by Event Name or Event Date by default, you can set that here.

  1. Complete the search steps for conducting an Advanced Search outlined above.
  2. Once the search runs, click on the "Save Current Search" link and name the search.
  3. If you wish to make this the default search, click in the checkbox provided.
  4. Click "Save" when you are finished.
