Overview - How Do Tags Work

The Tags tool lets you create Tags that you can apply to a variety of items throughout your Planning Pod account, including:

  • Events
  • Leads
  • Contacts
  • Proposals
  • Contracts
  • Invoices

Tags are great if you want to be able to more easily sort items by Tag as well as run a variety of Reports for items with specific Tags (for example, running an Events Summary Report for all Events with the Tag "Fundraisers").

Tags are built to be flexible and great to use for categorizing lots of things, including:

  • Different types of Events (meetings, seminars, fundraisers, weddings, parties, etc.)
  • Different types of Contacts (clients, new leads, hot leads, online leads, corporate members, student members, donors, etc.)
  • Different types of Vendors (caterers, venues, musicians, transportation, floral, decor, etc.)
  • Different statuses for Proposals, Contracts and Invoices (sent/not sent, in negotiation, approved, etc.)

We have added some default tags for you to use initially, but you can modify or remove these as well as add your own.
