Video Tip- Go to the 3:45 mark in the video below for how to edit topline Event information (like editing date/time).
You are required to add an Event start date/time and end date/time when you first add a new Event. However, you can change these dates and times in two ways: via the Event Dashboard or via the Calendar.
Please note that changing the dates of events with repeating schedules requires different steps than changing the dates of standalone events. The processes for both are described below.
To Edit an Event Date/Time on the Event Dashboard:
- Click on "Events" in the main navigation bar.
- Find the appropriate Event and click on it to open the Event Dashboard.
- Click on the "Edit" button and select the "Edit Date/Time" option. NOTE: Repeating events will only have the option for you to edit the time of the event from this drop down, not the date. Read on to find out how to edit the date of a repeating event.
- Make your edits and click "Save" when you are finished.
To Add a Repeating Schedule for an Event
- Click on "Events" in the main navigation bar.
- Find the appropriate Event and click on it to open the Event Dashboard.
- Click on "Set Repeat Schedule".
- Select "weekly" or "monthly":
- Weekly
- Choose the weekday(s) on which the event will occur
- Set an end date:
- Never Ends
- OR Ends On (to select a specific end date)NOTE: If your end date is NOT on a weekday when the event is scheduled to repeat, the final event will occur on the last weekday in the repeat schedule before the end date. If your end date IS on a weekday when the event is scheduled to repeat, the final event will occur on the end date itself.
- Monthly
- Set an end date:
- Never Ends
- OR Ends After occurrence(s) (to select a specific number of times the event should occur)
- OR Ends On (to select a specific end date)NOTE: If your end date is NOT on the day of the month when the event is scheduled to repeat, the final event will occur on the last day of the month in the repeat schedule before the end date. If your end date IS on the day of the month when the event is scheduled to repeat, the final event will occur on the end date itself.
- Set an end date:
- Weekly
NOTE: The way a repeating event / recurring event works is that, when today's repeating event reaches the scheduled end time (what we call the current "occurrence"), our software will automatically create a new event on the next scheduled recurring date/time and duplicate all the information from the current occurrence into that next scheduled occurrence.
To Edit the Date of a Repeating Event
Before you can change the date of a repeating event, you will need to remove the repeat schedule to make it a standalone event.
- Click on "Events" in the main navigation bar.
- Find the appropriate Event and click on it to open the Event Dashboard.
- Click on "Set Repeat Schedule".
- In the drop down menu underneath "Set Repeat Schedule", select "No Repeat" and hit "Save".
- Click on the "Edit" button and select the "Edit Date/Time" option.
- Make your edits and hit "Save".
- Click on "Set Repeat Schedule" again to set the details of your repeat schedule and hit "Save".
To Edit an Event Date/Time in the Calendars Tool:
- Click on "Calendars" in the main navigation bar.
- Find the appropriate Event on the Calendar and click on it.
- Make your edits and click "Save" when you are finished.
NOTE: You are not able to edit the date of a repeating event directly from the Calendar tab in the main navigation menu. To edit the date of a repeating event, you will need to navigate directly to that event, remove the repeat schedule, edit the date, and then set up a new repeat schedule.
