Adding/Managing Text Panels

IMPORTANT NOTE: Want to paste text from a document into Planning Pod? Read these copy-and-paste instructions first.

You can add a variety of text panels to an Event Website to tell each Event's story and explain its details. The types of text panels you can use include:

• Single column
• Double column
• Triple column
• Single column w/ image on left
• Single column w/ image on right

By default, we provide you with a single-column text panel towards the top of every new Event Website, and you can modify, move or delete this panel as well as add additional text panels to a site.

To Add a Text Panel to an Event Website:

1. Click on the "Event Website" tool button on the Event Dashboard - OR - use the Quick Launch tool to select the appropriate Event and the "Event Website" tool.
2. Click the "Add New Panel" button.
3. Under "Add Text Panel", select one of the following options:
• Single column
• Double column
• Triple column
• Single column w/ image on left
• Single column w/ image on right
4. The new panel will be added to the top of the Event Website and you can move or modify this panel using the panel controls next to the panel.
5. To add text to a new text panel:
• Click on the the "Text" button.
• Add the panel headline.
• Select text colors for the headline, subheads and body text.
• For each column, add a subhead and body text.
• Click "Save" when you are finished.

To Manage/Modify a Text Panel:

1. To add/change the text:
• Click on the the "Text" button.
• Add/modify the panel headline.
• Select text colors for the headline, subheads and body text.
• For each column, add/modify the subhead and body text.
• Click "Save" when you are finished.
2. To add/change the image in a text panel:
• Click on the "Image" button.
• Follow the instructions to select an image file to download from your computer. The image will be uploaded momentarily.
3. To select a background color:
• Click on the "Background Color" button.
• Click on the color picker tool; select a color; and click "Save".
4. To move a text panel:
• Click on the "Move Panel" button and select the desired option (move up one, move down one, move to top, move to bottom).
5. To remove a text panel:
• Click on the "Remove Panel" button.
• NOTE: This will permanently delete the panel and its associated image and text. There is no way to recover this deleted information.

IMPORTANT: WHEN ADDING IMAGES...

• Recommended image size for text panels is 150 pixels by 150 pixels.
• A file name cannot contain any of the following characters: \ / : * ? < > |
• Maximum file size for images is 2.55 MB. If your file is too large, you will need to edit the image to shrink the image size.
