Using Rulers on Floorplans

You can place adjustable rulers onto your Floorplans to measure the distance between elements. This lets you arrange elements more precisely on the Floorplan.

To Add a Horizontal or Vertical Ruler:

  1. Click on the "Floorplans" tool button on the Event Dashboard - OR - use the Quick Launch or Switch Event tool to select the appropriate Event and the "Floorplans" tool.
  2. Find the appropriate Floorplan to which you want to add elements and click on it.
  3. On the Floorplan Dashboard, make sure the "Tools" tab in the left column is selected and scroll down to the "Staff, Rulers & Notes" section.
  4. Click-and-hold on the appropriate icon (horizontal or vertical ruler) and drag it to where you want to place it on the Floorplan palette (you can always move/adjust it later).
  5. The ruler will be placed where you dragged it, and you can now adjust the width/length of the ruler by clicking-holding-and-dragging on the double arrow icon on the end of the ruler. As you drag this, the measurement will adjust in real time.

To Duplicate One of These Elements:

If you need to create one or more copies of one of the above elements you have added...

  1. Click on the appropriate element in the Floorplan.
  2. An "Actions" menu will appear. Select the "Duplicate" option; select the number of duplicate copies you need; and click the "Duplicate Now" button.
  3. The duplicated elements will be fanned out on top of each other so you can start dragging them to where you want to place them on the Floorplan palette.

To Delete One of These Elements:

  1. Click on the appropriate element in the Floorplan.
  2. An "Actions" menu will appear. Select the "Delete" option and confirm you wish to delete the element.
