Checking in Attendees At-The-Door via the Check-In Tool

How you check in attendees and the features at your disposal depends on the method of attendee management you selected when you created your Event -  RSVP Collection vs. Ticketing/Registration.

To Check in RSVP Attendees:

  1. To access the Check-In tool, click on the "Check-In" tool button on the Event Dashboard - OR - navigate to the following URL and enter your Planning Pod login details: https://checkin.planningpod.com/
  2. Find the Event (it will have the "RSVP Collection" label) in the list of events and click on the "Open" button next to it.
  3. Click on the "Check-In" option.
  4. You have a few options at your disposal to display/view attendees:
    • Check-In Options slider
      • "Attending Only" option - Will only display attendees who have RSVP'd as "attending"
      • "All Attendees" option - Will display all attendees in your Attendee List, even those who did not RSVP or responded as "not attending".
    • Show/Hide RSVP Events checkboxes - These checkboxes allow you to display any or all the RSVP Events you created for collecting responses for all your event segments or sub-events (learn more about RSVP Events). Hence it lets you check in attendees for one of those event segments at a time or many/all of them at once.
  5. You can either scroll through the list of attendees or use the search/sort filter at the top of the page to search by attendee first/last name, company name, group name, job title or table name/number.
  6. When you find the attendee, slide the toggle to the right of the attendee's name under the proper RSVP Event so it turns from red to green.
  7. To refresh the list to update all checked in attendees, click on the "Refresh Now" button at the top.

To Check in Ticketed/Registration Attendees:

  1. To access the Check-In tool, click on the "Check-In" tool button on the Event Dashboard - OR - navigate to the following URL and enter your Planning Pod login details: https://checkin.planningpod.com/
  2. Find the Event (it will have the "Ticketing/Registration" label) in the list of events and click on the "Open" button next to it.
  3. Click on the "Check-In" option.
  4. You can either scroll through the list of attendees or use the search/sort filter at the top of the page to search by attendee first/last name, ticket number, order number or ticket name.
  5. When you find the attendee, slide the toggle to the right of the attendee's name. The attendee's listing will turn green; display as "checked in"; and the date/time of the check-in will be recorded.
  6. If you click on the attendee's order number, the order details will be displayed in a modal window.

Video Tip - Go to the 0:24 mark of the video if your Event is set up to collect RSVPs. Go to the 2:22 mark of the video if your Event is set up to sell Tickets/Registrations.
