Video Tip - Go to the 7:21 mark of the video to view information on adding custom tables to Floorplans and manipulating them.
If you cannot find the correct dimensions of a round, rectangular or square table in our standard element library, you can create your own custom-sized table and even save it in your Favorites library so you can easily select and use it for future event floor plans.
NOTE: If you need to create a custom element that is not a table, you should use the Shapes element library to create a custom item based on a shape. See the Using Shapes in Foor Plans and Creating Custom Items article.
To Add a Custom Round Table:
- Click on the "Floorplans" tool button on the Event Dashboard - OR - use the Quick Launch or Switch Event tool to select the appropriate Event and the "Floorplans" tool.
- Find the appropriate Floorplan to which you want to add elements and click on it.
- On the Floorplan Dashboard, select the "Library" tab in the left column and click on the "Tables & Seating" icon

- Click-and-hold on the "Custom Round Table" element and drag it to where you want to place it on the Floorplan canvas (you can always move/adjust it later).
- A form will appear that lets you edit:
- Color
- Label
- Table number
- Ability to add multiple tables - see how to add custom round tables in a grid or staggered pattern
- Clear area diameter (clear space around the table)
- Table diameter
- Number of chairs (cocktail tables do not have a chair option)
- Chair type
- Seating style (evenly spaced or cabaret 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4)
- Click "Save" when you are finished. You will be taken back to the Floorplan Dashboard where you can view and adjust the position of the table by dragging-and-dropping it.

To Add a Custom Banquet/Rectangular Table:
- Click on the "Floorplans" tool button on the Event Dashboard - OR - use the Quick Launch or Switch Event tool to select the appropriate Event and the "Floorplans" tool.
- Find the appropriate Floorplan to which you want to add elements and click on it.
- On the Floorplan Dashboard, select the "Library" tab in the left column and click on the "Tables & Seating" icon

- Click-and-hold on the "Custom Rectangular Table" element and drag it to where you want to place it on the Floorplan canvas (you can always move/adjust it later).
- A form will appear that lets you edit:
- Color
- Label
- Table number

- Clear area width (clear space on the shorter dimension of the table, top to bottom)
- Clear area length (clear space on the longer dimension of the table, left to right)
- Table width (shorter dimension of the table, top to bottom)
- Table length (longer dimension of the table, left to right)
- Chair type
- Number of chairs on each side of the table (top, bottom, right end and left end)
- Click "Save" when you are finished. You will be taken back to the Floorplan Dashboard where you can view and adjust the position of the table by dragging-and-dropping it.

To Add a Custom Square Table:
- Click on the "Floorplans" tool button on the Event Dashboard - OR - use the Quick Launch or Switch Event tool to select the appropriate Event and the "Floorplans" tool.
- Find the appropriate Floorplan to which you want to add elements and click on it.
- On the Floorplan Dashboard, select the "Library" tab in the left column and click on the "Tables & Seating" icon

- Click-and-hold on the "Custom Square Table" element and drag it to where you want to place it on the Floorplan canvas (you can always move/adjust it later).
- A form will appear that lets you edit:
- Color
- Label
- Table number
- Ability to add multiple tables - see how to add custom square tables in a grid or staggered pattern
- Clear area diameter (since squares have equal sides, the measurement you enter will be the same top-to-bottom as left-to-right)
- Table width (since squares have equal sides, this measurement you enter will apply to each side)
- Chair type
- Number of chairs on each side of the table (top, bottom, right and left)
- Click "Save" when you are finished. You will be taken back to the Floorplan Dashboard where you can view and adjust the position of the table by dragging-and-dropping it.
