When you turn a lead into an event or create a new event, you'll be able to choose how you gather and manage attendees: RSVP or Ticketed! This article is here to help guide you to the right decision if you are unsure of which one to select!
Why do I have to choose an option?
- The RSVP and Ticketing selection helps to define how the "Attendee" tool is used. And, if you select ticketing/registration, extra tools are added to help you create and manage your tickets!
Which option is right for me?
- RSVP management is great for those closed guest lists. You already know who is invited and you need to manage their RSVPs, create seating charts, and gather information and meal choices. You add in your guest list and your guests can RSVP through the event webpage or you can update it on your end. (Examples: Weddings, Family Reunions, Graduations, Corporate parties, etc.)
- Ticketing/registration management is great for events that require registration or are open to the public. You can create tickets where your guests pay up front, or you can set up free tickets if you just need to gather a headcount. You also can also gather additional information or set up custom questions within the ticket itself. And you'll be able to seat the attendees in a floorplan if needed. (Examples: City wide events, markets, Public facing events, conferences, Tours, etc.)
- If you aren't planning on managing attendees or in doubt of the right fit, you can select the RSVP tool.
Help! I created an event and realized I need to switch the type- how do I do that without starting over?
- If you started building out an event and realized you need to sell tickets or you actually need it to be RSVP management, reach out to our support team! You can't switch an event on the front end, but we can update this for you on the back end so you don't need to start over.
- Email support at support@Planningpod.com and let us know the name and date of the event.
- Important to note: Switching an event from RSVP to Ticketing, or vice versa, will reset your attendee tool. If you have attendees listed or tickets sold, those will be removed! Make sure you take the necessary notes before reaching out- our team will check in with you on this too.
If you have additional questions, please reach out to our support team or your Customer Success Manager!
